From a one-man show
to South Africa's trusted supplier
Founded in 1999 by Sean Thompson, Tomotex has evolved into a trusted local manufacturer of premier fabrics, rib trims and blank T-shirts, now employing over 80 staff members from local communities.
Our journey has been guided by a commitment to excellence, quality products, reliable production, ethical business practices and unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. We pride ourselves on being 100% local — offering fast delivery, exceptional quality and a reliable production line, allowing us to use ethically sourced yarn to knit and dye the fabric.
We also produce rib trims (collar, cuffs and bands) and have an embroidery division, making us the 'one stop shop' for all your needs. Most exciting is our recently launched 'Tomo Tees' blanks program — by holding stock of a wide range of pure cotton and melange colours, we offer flexibility and quick response times without losing our trademark quality.
Utilizing the management team's 70 years of combined experience in the textiles industry, Tomotex has partnered with countless local brands helping them grow from strength to strength.

25 years in the making
2024
Tomo Tees Blanks Program
Our biggest and most ambitious move yet; the Tomo Tees blanks program holds stock of pure cotton and melange colours for unmatched flexibility and speed-to-market.
2018
Embroidery Division Added
Launched our embroidery service, completing the 'one stop shop' vision — fabrics, T-shirts, trims and embroidery all under one roof in Cape Town.
2014
80+ Staff & Trims Division
Grew to over 80 staff from local communities and launched a dedicated Trims division — collars, cuffs and bands made with meticulous detail.
2009
T-Shirt Collection Launched
Introduced the signature blank T-shirt range, providing brands with consistent wholesale quality and a wide variety of styles and colours.
Early 2000s
Growth & Team Building
Expanded the combed cotton knit fabric collection, growing the team and establishing Tomotex as a reliable Western Cape textile supplier.
